Soft Black Opaque Etching Grounds Ball provides etching grounds in solid form.

The Soft Black Opaque Ball is non-drying. They deliver soft lines and textural effects. It delivers a matt black finish, which makes the etching work extremely clear. These grounds are ideal for etchings that require fine details and deep etched lines.

To achieve the pencil method, apply a light sheet of paper over the prepared plate. Next use a hard pencil to draw out your design. When the paper is removed it will take the pressured lines of ground with it, leaving the drawing on the plate.

These etching grounds should be applied to warm plates with a leather dabber or brayer.
