Paper stimp is a roll of heavily curled paper, useful when working with pastel crayons, pressed charcoals in a stick, charcoal in a crayon and pencils. It is used to create soft tonal transitions, distribute the pigment and soften sharp edges in the drawing. It is a very useful tool - it makes working with charcoals and pastels much cleaner and faster. The grinder was made of soft felt paper.
