Artistic Arches drawing block made of 75% high quality cotton. It perfectly reproduces paper created with the use of artisanal methods. It is an excellent base for drawing with charcoal, pencil, pastels, graphite, sanguine, crayons, ink and felt-tip pens. It also works well in bookbinding, stamping and typography. You can use it also as calligraphy paper, working on it with nibs.
Arches drawing blocks are created using traditional methods on cylindrical forms. The slow movements of the cylinders allowed for even distribution of cotton fibers in all directions. This process made it possible to obtain high grammage, naturally white paper that is scratch and abrasion resistant.
Paper provides artists with a unique surface that preserves every nuance of a pencil stroke and gives the drawing incredible depth. Paper is known for its unique properties in art schools around the world and appreciated by the most eminent French artists.
The blocks are available in three weights, so that each artist can choose the paper that best suits his technique. They also have 2 different textures: cold pressed and textured with a delicate ribbed embossing. The texture you choose will depend on the type of writing accessories you use. However, as a rule, texture is a matter of personal choice for an artist, part of the creative process and artistic expression.
