Arches watercolor paper in sheets, made of 100% high quality cotton. Thanks to the characteristically frayed edges, it perfectly reproduces paper created using artisanal methods. It is ideal for painting with watercolors and for all wet techniques such as ink, gouache and acrylic.

Arches watercolor papers are created using traditional methods on cylindrical forms. The slow movements of the cylinders allowed for an even distribution of cotton fibers in all directions. This process made it possible to obtain a high grammage of naturally white paper that is scratch and abrasion resistant. The paper absorbs a large amount of water without leaving unsightly stains or distortions. These features provide the artist with high control over the image being made.

The core of the paper is made of natural gelatin. Thanks to this, it perfectly reproduces the transparency of colors and their colors, while preventing the color from penetrating into the block. The unique surface of the paper allows the removal of paints, both wet and dry, revealing its perfect whiteness.

The papers come in 3 different textures: cold-pressed, hot-pressed and rough. The texture you choose will depend on the medium you are using. However, as a rule, texture is a matter of personal choice for an artist, part of the creative process and artistic expression.
