Glossy Varnish by Schmincke is a liquid final varnish.
It is particularly suitable for protecting acrylic paintings, inkjet prints and photos. The varnish is fast-drying, elastic, resistant to aging and does not yellow. The varnish does not provide any special UV protection for the paints used! For this reason, we recommend that you use oil paints of high quality and light resistance from the beginning.
Shake well before use. Varnish can be applied only after the paint is completely dry. In the case of thinly applied acrylic paints, this can be done after 72 hours. In case of paints of paste consistency, it is better to wait one or two weeks before applying varnish. The dried varnish layer remains soluble in turpentine substitute or varnish remover for a long time.
Tools such as brushes and palettes should be cleaned as soon as possible, e.g. with turpentine or brush cleaner. Dried paint remains soluble in turpentine or paint remover for a long time. Clogged spray heads are best cleaned with acetone. Store in a cool, dry place. Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C (122°F). Individual pre-testing is required.
