Chuneo brushes by Da Vinci are a modern synthetic answer to traditional chunking bristle brushes, highly valued in oil and acrylic painting. Developed after a decade of research, Chuneo fibres closely replicate the behaviour of natural bristles—they are long, resilient and feature characteristic “flags,” the split ends that hold thick paint and release it in a controlled way during application.

Unlike standard synthetic brushes with smooth, uniform fibres, Chuneo brushes are intentionally more “bristly,” allowing each fibre to move independently. This creates natural, expressive brushmarks, varied textures and distinctive strokes—very similar to those produced by genuine bristle brushes.
