Brause Learning Reference Book – Calligraphy Guide
The Learning Reference Book by Brause is a practical guide designed to introduce the fundamentals of Latin calligraphy. It has been created for beginners starting their calligraphy journey as well as for anyone interested in learning classical lettering styles.
The booklet includes four calligraphic alphabets:
- Caroline (Carolingian minuscule);
- Uncial;
- Gothic Textura – lowercase letters;
- Gothic Textura – uppercase letters.
The guide explains the basic principles of letter construction, proportions, and nib handling. It also provides helpful tips on correct hand movements and writing techniques, helping you gradually develop better line control and rhythm in your lettering.
