J.Herbin is the oldest company in the world that produces pen inks. It was established in Paris in 1670.

The main ingredient of this ink is varnish found in the Punjab region of India. Herbin began producing this ink in India in 1829.

The ink, also called "China Ink", is waterproof, non-fading and liquid. It is also indelible and resistant to solvents. It has excellent color fastness and gains a glossy finish after drying. Thanks to its high covering properties, it offers excellent effects, it can also be applied in layers. The ink dries completely in 30 minutes. It can be applied with a brush, pen or airbrush on stiff, flexible, absorbent and non-absorbent materials such as: paper, PVC sheets, cardboard, wood, plaster, glass, plastic, clay, ceramics, salt mass, wallpapers, fabrics, tracing paper, modeling clay, metal or polystyrene. It is an irreplaceable medium in the art of calligraphy, lettering and drawing.
