J.Herbin is the oldest company in the world that produces pen inks. It was established in Paris in 1670.

The inks are free from artificial pigments and safe for use with fountain pens. They are also non-toxic and have a neutral pH. They are water-based, they write very smoothly and dry quickly. The bottle has a convenient, wide neck allowing for quick and convenient filling of the pen and preventing the ink from escaping outside the packaging.

The ink color names are extremely poetic, and each one alludes to something. As a result, J. Herbin retained the exceptionally original French character of the brand.

Forget Me Not Blue - named after the flower of that very same name. Based on the famous legend, a knight and his lady were taking a walk along the river. He bent over to pick up a flower for his lady but lost his balance with the weight of its armor and fell into the river. While drowning he threw the flower at his lady screaming “Forget-me-not”. Thanks to that legend the myosotis had become the symbol of memory and remembrance. The bleu myosotis is also the closest color to the standard and traditional blue ink used by every French pupil..

All natural J. Herbin inks and their glass bottles are hand-made in Paris.
