This quote underscores the fact that for creative minds, the process of transferring ideas to paper begins with the placement of the first dot, as a watershed moment of realization of an idea. Guided by this thought and the characteristics of the Bauhaus style, such as pure form, functional details and contrasts, the pen was designed with a hexagonal lacquered barrel with a tapered grip zone and a twist tip in a contrasting color.

The Drehgriffel No. 1 pen creates incredibly clean lines, and the hexagonal barrel with a pointed tip fits comfortably in the hand. The pen is made of precision-milled aluminum and brass, and painted in colors that perfectly match the covers of Leuchtturm1917 calendars and notebooks. It has a rotating nib ejection mechanism and Royal Blue ink. It is ideal for filing documents. Re-usability is possible thanks to replaceable refills. The pen also has a convenient mechanism for unscrewing the tip.
