Here's another edition of Derwent's unique Inktense ink. Graphitint XL Blocks is a unique formula that combines graphite and colored pigments to create rich but muted shades. Crayon or ink - just blur!

The unusual thing about Graphitint Blocks sticks is that they can be used for very different techniques. Used "dry" they resemble greasy pastels, then you get clean and intense colors. On the other hand, when mixed with water, they turn into semi-transparent ink. The colors blend together, making it possible to obtain a myriad of colors and shades. They can be used on a wetted substrate or on a dry one and then add water. They guarantee incredible performance thanks to specially formulated water-soluble colored graphite. Each block contains a large amount of formula, equivalent to 8 pencils.

The great advantage of Graphitint Blocks sticks is that after the first applied layer dries, you can apply another layer without worrying about blurring. Using a "Grate'n'shake" grater, we can grind the stick, obtaining a fine dust that, when applied to a wetted surface, creates interesting color effects. Another option is to dissolve the dust in water and use the solution as if it were ink, such as with a brush marker or sprayer. The sticks are ideal for creating expansive, expressive landscapes, where they retain their intense color despite the large area on which they are blurred. The versatility of Graphitint XL blocks allows them to be used on paper, canvas, ceramics, wood, fabric, as well as many other porous surfaces.
