The Silhouette Curio 2 plotter is a highly anticipated newcomer offering unique solutions such as a stationary platform with a mobile blade. The platform provides a working area of 30.5 x 30.5 x 2 cm. In addition, the manufacturer offers attractive accessories that allow for gilding, engraving, calligraphy, embossing or punching.

Capabilities of Silhouette Curio 2 plotter

Thanks to a new solution in the form of an electrostatic platform and a movable carriage with a blade, Curio 2 offers not only exceptional precision but also work in a variety of media, from cutting the thinnest and most delicate papers to engraving and gilding on thicker materials.

Create your own stickers and labels with the Curio 2 plotter and Print & Cut function. Simply print your design with markers on any printer, and when placed on the platform, the plotter will cut along the lines created in the software.

The height of the working area is as high as 20mm, so you can make embellishments, gilding and engraving on items such as coasters and notebooks. You can also sketch precise, symmetrical designs on hard surfaces and then paint them by hand using any media. In addition, the plotter is equipped with an automatic system for measuring the thickness of materials!

The electrostatic field holds impermeable materials such as paper up to about 200g in place without the need for a mat. However, if you prefer cutting on a mat, you can use the 30.5 x 30.5 cm Silhouette mats. For some materials and patterns, the use of an adhesive-covered mat may be necessary to stabilize the sheet. You can also immobilize the material on the surface of the electrostatic field with tape.

The machine is operated via Silhouette Studio software. When you register the software, you will receive 100 patterns for free and a month's trial subscription to the Design Store, which you can extend or cancel. With easy-to-use tools, you will also create your own designs, import fonts, merge and format a variety of shapes. You can also purchase an extension of the program to Designer or Business Edition. If you have Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw, you can operate the plotter from these programs with the Silhouette Connect plug-in.
