Artists' Retouching Varnish temporary varnish is suitable for protecting oil, alkyd and acrylic paintings.

Artists' Retouching Varnish is a fast-drying, UV-resistant gloss varnish that provides temporary protection for recently completed oil paintings. However, unlike artist's varnish, you can paint on retouching varnish.

To do so, it is best that successive coats of paint be as "oily" (diluted with a large amount of medium) and applied as thoroughly as possible. A layer of varnish should be applied after the last layer of paint has dried (wait six months). Varnish protects not only from UV rays, but also from oxidation, dust and dirt. It can be removed with solvents. It should not be used as a medium.
