Arabic gum for Holbein watercolor paints.

Rubber is used to reduce the viscosity and change the consistency of watercolor paints. In addition, it increases the gloss and transparency of paints. When you mix gum arabic (also called a binder) with an opaque watercolor paint, you get a delicate, transparent effect.

The rubber slows the drying of paints on the paper. This feature will be especially useful for people who paint with the wet on wet technique. The medium also helps in mixing colors on the paper and makes it easier to control the painted work. In addition, it reduces the risk of cracks forming after applying thicker layers of paint.

Do not apply the medium directly from the bottle - dilute it with water in which you wash the brush or add it directly to the diluted paint.
