Transparent Gesso 3000 painting primer provides excellent adhesion for oil paints, acrylics, and gouache.

It is an ideal base for creating all kinds of artworks on almost any surface. Once dry, it forms an absorbent layer perfectly suited for both acrylic and oil paints. It can be thinned with water and applied in thin layers or one thicker coat to create interesting texture. The transparent version works great as a background for your work, and when mixed with your favorite acrylic color, it retains nearly the same shade while adding the benefits of gesso. It can also be used on its own to emphasize the texture and character of the surface.

It provides excellent adhesion for acrylic and oil paints, and its formula makes it suitable for absorbent, clean, and grease-free surfaces such as canvas (linen, cotton, etc.), wood, plywood, cardboard, and paper. It can also be used as a primer for murals on alkaline surfaces such as concrete, plaster, or brick. Gesso can be mixed with other Amsterdam gessos or tinted with acrylic paint, and once dry, it becomes completely waterproof. Tools should be cleaned with water. Apply at temperatures above 10°C and store in a frost-free place.
