J.Herbin is the oldest company in the world that produces pen inks. It was established in Paris in 1700.
The inks are free from artificial pigments and safe for use with fountain pens. They are also non-toxic and have a neutral pH. They are water-based, they write very smoothly and dry quickly. The bottle has a convenient, wide neck allowing for quick and convenient filling of the pen and preventing the ink from escaping outside the packaging.
The ink color names are extremely poetic, and each one alludes to something. As a result, J. Herbin retained the exceptionally original French character of the brand.
Viollette Pensee - Since Napoleon I, French pupils used violet ink color, the least expensive color. This ink was made of methyl-violet, also used to disinfect wounds. this color is also a flower from the very same name.
All natural J. Herbin inks and their glass bottles are hand-made in Paris.
