Holbein Extra Fine Artists' Oil Color is a range of premium world-class oil paints for artists.
The paints are smooth, highly pigmented, and color range includes traditional colors as well as colors created using modern pigments. All pigments have been ground 10 times to achieve a smooth consistency across the range of 167 colors. This uniform consistency and viscosity is very important, as it ensures that each color will apply to the canvas in the same buttery, smooth way.
Artists' Oil Color paints are made from the highest quality, finely ground pigments carefully formulated with vegetable oils, such as poppy seed oil or linseed oil.
The oil hardens and oxidizes when exposed to air, this slow chemical process ensures that oil paintings don't dry too quickly, providing the artist with a long working time and the ability to apply touch-ups frequently. Unlike water-based paints, in which water evaporates quickly, oil solidifies, so even thick layers of oil paint remain solid and compact after drying.
Artists' Oil Color paints offer painters excellent adhesion, high coloring power, incredible durability, smooth texture and excellent lightfastness due to their high pigment intensity and density. When mixed, the paints produce brilliant color results.
Only the purest pigments available on the market are used in the production of Holbein paints, which comply with the highest quality control standards.
