J.Herbin is the oldest company in the world that produces pen inks. It was established in Paris in 1670.

With a range of five luminous shades, Jacques Herbin is pleased to announce the launch of the new 1670 ink, Violet Impérial, with bluish reflections and a thousand sparkling shimmers, for the pleasure of your writing.

Because of the scarcity of dyes, this colour, a symbol of luxury but also of mystery, was used by the Emperor and his family under the Roman Empire and then by the various royalties. King Louis XIV, under whom Jacques Herbin was founded, used it for his clothes during certain periods of his life. This fresh and elegant colour is currently very popular, particularly in decoration and design.

The inks are free from artificial pigments and safe for use with fountain pens. They are also non-toxic and have a neutral pH. They are water-based, they write very smoothly and dry quickly. The bottle has a convenient, wide neck allowing for quick and convenient filling of the pen and preventing the ink from escaping outside the packaging.

All natural J. Herbin inks and their glass bottles are hand-made in Paris.
