Add texture to your artwork while creating the perfect absorbent base for painting with Amsterdam Modeling Paste. This versatile paste allows you to build relief backgrounds that work beautifully with both acrylic and oil paints. It can be used on its own or mixed with Amsterdam acrylic colors in any ratio. Because the paste is pigmented with Titanium White, your mixed color will appear lighter than it does straight from the tube.

Amsterdam Modeling Paste provides a textured base with excellent adhesion for acrylic and oil paints. It is suitable for absorbent, clean, and grease-free surfaces such as canvas (linen, cotton, etc.), wood, plywood, cardboard, and paper. It can also serve as a primer for murals on alkaline surfaces like concrete, plaster, or brick. For very absorbent surfaces, it’s recommended to apply a pre-coat of Amsterdam Acrylic Binder.

The paste dries within a few hours, depending on layer thickness, and can be mixed with acrylic paint, gel mediums, and acrylic mediums. Once dry, it becomes waterproof and non-yellowing. Clean tools with water after use. Apply at temperatures above 10°C and store in a frost-free place.
