Holbein Oil Color is a range of high-quality oil paints for beginning painters.
The paints are smooth, highly pigmented, and range from traditional colors to colors created using modern pigments. Oil Color paints are made from high-quality, finely ground pigments carefully kneaded with vegetable oils, such as poppy seed oil or linseed oil.
The oil hardens when exposed to air and oxidizes, this slow chemical change ensures that oil paintings do not dry too quickly, providing the artist with a long working time and the possibility of frequent touch-ups. Unlike water-based paints, in which water evaporates quickly, oil solidifies, so even thick layers of oil paint remain solid and compact after drying.
Oil Color paints offer excellent adhesion, high coloring power, incredible durability, smooth texture and excellent lightfastness due to their high pigment intensity and density. The paints produce brilliant color results when mixed.
Only the purest pigments available on the market are used in the production of Holbein paints, which comply with the highest quality control standards.
