Sennelier’s Encres d’Artistes is a unique range of calligraphy and illustration inks, created for professional artists, illustrators, calligraphers, and creative enthusiasts.

Inspired by traditional Chinese inks, these artist-grade inks are distinguished by their deep, rich colors and high pigment concentration. The formula is based on natural shellac, which lends each shade a distinctive brilliance, luminosity, and vivid response to light.

Encres d’Artistes can be applied with dip pens, calligraphy nibs, or brushes. Their smooth consistency and vibrant hues make them ideal for calligraphy, line drawing, washes, illustration, textile design, and mixed media work on various surfaces. Once dry, they form a satin to glossy finish, depending on application thickness. They dry quickly and are highly water-resistant, though not entirely permanent. To enhance lightfastness, finished works can be protected with a fixative.

The Sennelier palette includes 32 intense, richly pigmented, and durable colors, offering a wide spectrum for expressive work.
